Cool in the shade - Volume one 'groove drops'

If you have never bought a CD compilation before then you probably need to pick this one up. If you already own everything from Cafe Del Mar to the latest Ministry of Sound then this will also be right up your street and in the must have basket.

In some way this CD could become the greatest hits of the 'Chilled' genre with a few familiar sounds and still plenty of surprises that are quite convincingly brought together.

This is a contemporary chilled acid soulful funk hip hop jazz compilation that is very much the music of the moment in the UK and increasingly so in the rest of the world. These 14 songs have interest, movement and are at times refreshing and surprising and avoid many of the ambient cliches that exist on CD's of its cousins.

Volume one 'groove drops' is bound to successful and very much sets the standard for volume 2,3,4 etc. You can play the whole CD a number of times without it becoming boring. It works because all 14 songs contribute to the identity of this album and it does very contain its own identity which is unusual for compilation CD's.

Overall I would rate this as a dam fine new contribution. Definitely worth it!
